After I posted a Tiktok about our modern doors and doorknobs, I got so many questions about them! I had no idea y’all would be so interested in something like this so I’m putting all of the information and shopping links into this post for you. Keep reading to shop our exact hardware and learn more about our doors!
When we purchased our fixer upper, we made a list of things we wanted to change and aligned that with our budget. One of the non-negotiable items was changing out all of the doors. This house has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, but there are closets everywhere! There are 21 doors in total which is just- crazy. Nice, but crazy!
We ordered the masonite pre-hung doors through a local door company and they were back ordered for what seemed like forever. My biggest piece of advice if you’re replacing doors is to not let your contractor take all doors off before the new ones come in! Keep the important ones so you can have a bathroom with privacy, your kids have doors, and you have a door. Jett (our 2 year old) was climbing out of his crib the minute we moved into this house and it kept me up at night knowing he could possibly just walk out the front door. As a matter of fact, he almost did one night. It was a long three months of waiting for the doors to be installed but in the end, it was worth it!
For the door casings, we went with a primed pine 1x4 and the baseboards are primed pine 1x8. They are all painted with Sherwin Williams Extra White. Let me know if you have any other questions in the comments!
