We are finally getting settled in our new home and slowly filling it up with furniture and decor we love! We are completely changing the style of our home decor, so it’s a little bit overwhelming at first. Our previous condo was more traditional with a lot of vintage pieces and a french industrial vibe. Since our new home is very modern and clean, we are decorating with more modern pieces, but mixing textures to make it cozy. In today’s post I’m sharing my vision board for our modern living room that I have been working on FOREVER as well as some photos that inspired me along the way. I hope you like it!
WHITE SECTIONAL- I couldn’t link this in the image above, but the one in the photo is from Living Spaces. We ended up getting a custom sofa made at Sofa U Love in Corona Del Mar. It looks similar to the one in the photo and we absolutely love it! We wanted something that looked like the Restoration Hardware cloud sofa but that had a more durable slip cover (and also wasn’t ridiculously expensive)! Ours has a white denim slip cover so it will be very durable and easy to bleach.
CONCRETE COFFEE TABLE- I love this round one and that it’s safer for little ones since it doesn’t have corners. Our floors are gray so it will tie in with those. Ideally, I’ll add some pretty coffee table books but we will see if that is a possibility with a rowdy toddler.
CHANEL INSPIRED SURFBOARD- I LOVE THIS SO MUCH! I’m so inspired by a lot of the southern California designers that I follow on Instagram and a lot of them use surfboards as artwork. I’m obsessed with the black and white one and how it makes a bold statement while being simple at the same time.
OVERSIZED FLOOR MIRRORS- I’d love to have two of these flanking the console that will go under the TV. They’re pricey, but they often go on sale! I’ve seen them in Styled By Kasey’s home and they’re just gorgeous!
MINTED ARTWORK- I love this abstract piece and it totally goes with the color scheme we are going for. Y’all know I love black and white, but since our new home has cool gray flooring, I want to add some natural tones to warm it up a bit.
NEUTRAL PILLOWS- I love these super affordable linen pillows from H&M! They come in a few colors and can be washed (super important for life with kids)! The sheepskin pillow in the image above is from Ikea, but I linked a similar version here.
RATTAN CONSOLE/MEDIA CABINET- When I saw this rattan console on Pottery Barn’s website, I ooh’d and awww’d. I love that the vaccum can still go underneath and that it can store Jett’s toys. Then I saw a very similar one on a friend’s Instagram and just had to have it.
MODERN CHAIRS- Since we got a sectional, we have enough room on the other side to do 2 chairs. My sister in law has these chairs from Target and I absolutely loved them in their home! They’re really comfortable too and I just love the look (and the price)!
