Last year I co-hosted my younger sister's baby shower back home in Kentucky. It's crazy that now she almost has a one year old! We celebrated Karly and baby Cohen (or 'Coco' as I like to call him) at Crank & Boom, an adorable ice cream parlor in Lexington, Ky. Keep reading for all of the gorgeous details because 'tis the season for a fall baby shower!
Crank & Boom has a separate event space called The Vault that is perfect to host a small event like a baby shower. They have gorgeous copper topped tables and cute chalkboard walls, so you really don't have to go all out on decor. Since her shower was the weekend after Halloween, we decided to use pumpkins as flower vases and they turned out absolutely beautiful!
Since Karly was having a baby boy, we incorporated some dusty blues with the gorgeous watercolor invitations and by painting a few small pumpkins with that same color. The centerpieces also had some subtle blue tones in them which was perfect!
Crank & Boom is located a couple doors down from a brewery in Lexington, so all of the boys (Dwayne included!) hung out there while the girls celebrated Karly and Cohen. Dwayne crashed the party half way through opening gifts and "helped" Karly untie the bows- ha! The ice cream was delightful and there were so many yummy flavors to choose from! Crank & Boom also offers packages with beverage service, so that was really nice.
After the shower ended, we took some quick photos outside with the family and Ashley from Shining Light Photography took some beautiful maternity photos of Karly. She also shot Karly and Corey's wedding in Mexico- she's amazing! I love that she uses film and her images are always so stunning.

This year I scheduled our family photos for Christmas while we were in Kentucky. Unfortunately Skyler wasn’t able to come at the last minute, but we went ahead and had photos taken anyway. Fall is so beautiful in Kentucky! My sister and her sweet family split the session with us and somehow we both ended up wearing black and tan outfits- ha! The photos are absolutely amazing and I wanted to share them with you in case your needing outfit ideas for your Christmas card photos!
