Checkerboard home decor is all the rage right now and I LOVE it! I got this checkerboard rug and it completely transformed our living room. In today’s post I’m sharing how I made this simple checkerboard artwork. You could do this on a large canvas and it would be SO COOL!
WHAT YOU’LL NEED //
Paint, I used black and white.
Acrylic gel medium. I used gloss, but you could also use matte!
DIRECTIONS //
Mix your 2 colors with the acrylic gel medium. The more gel medium you use, the thicker your paint will be. If you’re using a color keep in mind that it will dry darker than it appears when it’s wet!
Scoop a small amount of the mix onto the paintbrush with a palette knife.
Gently press the paint onto the canvas making a 1”(ish) square.
After you finish the first row, start at the end and move from right to left for the second row.
After completion, let the painting dry for about 24 hours.
