This might be my favorite dress EVER! That is a strong statement, but it's so perfect for beautiful fall days like this one. The length is also just right to wear with boots like these and it shows the perfect amount of leg.
I belted this dress with my mom's brass nameplate belt because you know how much I love to accentuate the waist! This belt is so special to me because it has her maiden name initials on it, long before any of us kids were in the picture! I also have one of my dads nameplate belts and it's one of my greatest treasures. These belts are everywhere in Kentucky and you can shop them here. It's my favorite Kentucky tack shop and all items are hand made with love.

Lace-up tops and dresses are everywhere this season and I love this Topshop number from Nordstrom. It is lined behind the laces so it's a little more conservative than some options out there, but this allows it to be more versatile. This dress can easily be taken from day to night, too! For the office, you could pair it with tights, booties, and a top-knot. For night (or weekends), you can pair it with some over-the-knee boots like these and a fun hat!
I also love getting more wears out of a dress by putting a skirt over it and making it look like a top! A suede skirt like the one from this post would be perfect! When wearing a skirt over a dress, I usually go with something A-line so the dress doesn't bunch up underneath. When you look at your closet with this in mind, it always seems like there are so many more options! You can never have enough options, right?!
My profession normally doesn't require business casual attire however, I love to put together an office-appropriate ensemble for meetings (or interviews)! J.Crew's Minnie pants are just right for such occasions, and this white peplum top from Zara is a great alternative to the classic white shirt. My love affair with peplum tops began long ago and for good reason. Who wouldn't want to make their waist look smaller and be able to hide that big lunch you had? It's a win-win!
I'm in Louisville, Kentucky for work and have always wanted to try Nord's Bakery. Their famous maple bacon donut was indeed the most delicious pastry I've yet to try, and the bakery itself is nothing short of adorable. My friend Lindsay from Sprinkles for Breakfast sent me this awesome 'Doughnuts Over Everything' tee and it was perfect for the occasion! Denim jackets possess many heroic characteristics just like Batman's cape. They're perfect for fighting off the chill on late summer nights, combat 'what to wear' dilemmas, and obviously have superfashion powers. Seriously though, denim jackets are a timeless piece that you will have in your closet for years to come. You can wear them with anything, even jeans (Canadian tuxedo, anyone?)!
I got this J.Crew Factory Denim Jacket in a lighter shade because most of my jeans are a dark wash. It certainly comes in handy for chilly nights in Seattle. Usually, I'll just tie it around my waist on the way out of the house and when the time is right, I put on my 'cape' and fly off into the sunset.
