This might be my favorite dress EVER! That is a strong statement, but it's so perfect for beautiful fall days like this one. The length is also just right to wear with boots like these and it shows the perfect amount of leg.
I belted this dress with my mom's brass nameplate belt because you know how much I love to accentuate the waist! This belt is so special to me because it has her maiden name initials on it, long before any of us kids were in the picture! I also have one of my dads nameplate belts and it's one of my greatest treasures. These belts are everywhere in Kentucky and you can shop them here. It's my favorite Kentucky tack shop and all items are hand made with love.
Speaking of things I love, Halloween is this weekend and I'm ready for some candy! I think adults should be able to trick-or-treat too, so that's why I'm offering you a FREE month of Rocksbox! A girl can never have too much jewelry, and costume jewelry is always changing, two reasons Rocksbox is amazing! I got this beautiful bracelet in my box this month as well as the stud earrings I'm wearing in this post. Use the code meandmrjonesxoxo for a free month of fabulous jewelry and have a Happy Halloween!
SPIKED APPLE CIDER

Last weekend, I went to the pumpkin patch with my family in Kentucky. Fall in the Bluegrass State is beyond beautiful and I'm in awe of it's beauty when the leaves are changing and the air is crisp. We laughed our butts off watching my brother and brother-in-law successfully carry almost 15 pumpkins for the "great pumpkin challenge," and also drank some delicious spiked apple cider!
Besides being able to spend time my family, one of the best things about being home is that I get to borrow all of my mom and sisters clothes, shoes, bags, etc! We all wear the same size shoe (hello, lucky!) and they all have fabulous style. At the pumpkin patch I wore my mom's studded Frye boots and borrowed my sister in law's fringe handbag (under $60 too)! Since the temperature dropped over the weekend, I wore this amazingly soft faux fur vest with a comfy tunic tee. It was the perfect fall day and I can't wait to carve pumpkins before Halloween!
I HEART HALLOWEEN

Unlike some of my past costumes, this year I wanted to do something that was easy and fun. Usually, I get way into my Halloween costumes and end up spending entirely too much time & money, so this was the perfect solution. Below you can find directions to DIY this costume!
Felt Hearts:
First, make a template for the heart shapes. You can do this by printing out a heart or just freehand drawing one. Next, use the heart template and trace 3 hearts onto red felt and 3 hearts onto a piece of felt that is more stiff than the red. Cut out all 6 hearts and glue them together. Using safety pins, attach the hearts onto your skirt fabric and only pin through the stiff felt backing.
Card Clutch:
I used a patent leather clutch I already had from our wedding. On the back of it, I used Zots to attach the cards. Zots are perfect because you can peel them off after Halloween! Just be careful when taking them off, peel them off very slowly so the fabric doesn't rip.
Card Crown:
1. Print out crown template here.
2. Cut out crown template.
3. Using a hot glue gun (or stapler), glue the cards onto the paper crown. Make sure you cover the entire piece of paper.
4. Trim the cards to the shape of the crown template.
5. Optional: peel the paper template off. This worked both times that I made this. The hot glue doesn't stick well to the waxy cards, so use staples to reinforce them just in case!
6. Staple the crown together.
7. Staple a small piece of ribbon on each side of the inside of the crown.
8. Optional: Glue a piece of ribbon to the bottom of the crown to finish the edge.
9. To secure the crown on your head, use a small hair clip. Make sure the clip goes over both the ribbon inside of the crown as well as your hair.
10. Have the HAPPIEST Halloween yet!
LAST MINUTE HALLOWEEN COSTUMES
We've all done it. You know, plan a fabulous over-the-top costume for Halloween but run out of time to get it all together. Or you just don't want to spend a lot of money on something you'll wear once. The good news is, I've got you covered! I've put together five last-minute and wallet friendly Halloween costumes so you can look spooktacular and still have money in your pocket to buy some creepy cocktails! The best part is, all of these pieces can be worn post-Halloween so you can re-wear them and remember all of the good times you had! I can't wait to see what you come up with!
Get in touch with your darker side and channel Wednesday Addams this Halloween. Pair this lace shift dress with some knee high socks or black tights and black shoes or boots. Use black eyeliner not only on the eyes, but make sure you ink in her famous widows peak to complete the look! Check out this tutorial for makeup inspiration!
You might already have these items in your closet and if so, whoohoo! If not, all of these items are budget friendly and definitely worthy of more wears! I've rocked this costume before and it was cute, very easy, and comfortable!
If you're hooked on Orange Is The New Black, this costume is for you! This jumpsuit is perfect for the occasion but can easily be dressed up for date night. The tattoos are SO fun and there are so many creative options! If you have an artistic friend and some sharpie markers that will work too, but this tattoo printer paper looks amazing. I kind of want to buy it even though I won't be needing it for this year's costume! If you have long hair, just put it back in a low bun or take it to the next level with this fabulous wig!
I'm OBSESSED with Empire and Cookie Lyon would be so fun to impersonate! This denim jacket look of hers was one of my favorites and I really wanted to buy this BaubleBar necklace anyway, so it's a win win! You can also add a chain belt and some big hoop earrings. Go on, girl!

I'm sure most of you know who this is but my mom didn't. So, let me introduce you to the Fashion Pope, Karl Lagerfeld. He is the genius behind Chanel and is known for his monochromatic personal style. He often wears a bow blouse or black tie, white shirt, and black trousers. His wicked white locks are normally pulled back into a low ponytail and he loves his black sunglasses and leather gloves. Karl himself even thinks his look is cartoonish saying, "I am like a caricature of myself, and I like that." Hello, perfect Halloween costume!
