Just because you don't have fancy China and and table linens doesn't mean you can't quickly pull together an ultra chic and romantic table setting for two. After all, the point is to have a nice relaxing dinner at home away from the hustle and bustle that the holidays bring. In today's post I'm showing showing you how to create a table setting full of Christmas cheer and luxe seasonal style in very little time with very little money!

Every time we move, we make small improvements to our space by learning from our mistakes in our previous home. Sometimes we finally come to a breaking point with these little problems and are forced to come up with a creative solution. This was the case when we moved in May- there was absolutely no way I was going to mount the TV without hiding the cords (seriously, why can't everything be wireless?)! Today I'm sharing the simple (and cute!) solution I came up with to hide these pesky cables and a DIY to cover your cable box because lets face it- those are really ugly too!

Mr. Jones and I have been on the move for a few years now and this is the 4th place I've installed this bar (crazy)! I recently painted the shelves white, so I decided to post a DIY to tell you guys how I made it so you can too! The best part about these shelves is that they can fit any space and can easily be modified. In our last 3 places, the shelves were twice as wide and sadly, Mr. Jones had twice as much bourbon before we made our big move to the Pacific Northwest....

Other than the occasional fresh flowers, Mr. Jones and I didn't have any real plants in our house. Since I'm no expert on indoor plants, I decided to take baby steps and start with succulents and a small cactus (still trying to convince Mr. Jones a small palm tree is a good idea). I'm not sure how long I'll be able to keep these babies alive, so....

I'm so excited because this entire week on Me & Mr. Jones is all about weddings! I'll be sharing my sister's destination wedding photos at the end of this week, but I also wanted to give all of the lovely brides out there some ideas, inspiration, and style tips. Today I'm sharing a very special DIY project that you can use for table numbers at your wedding or just as wall art with the number of your special day (we got married October 3rd, hence the #3).

Mr. Jones and I had been searching high and low for a countertop that would complete our DIY island in our Seattle loft. We had purchased an industrial cart that was the perfect size, but it needed a top in order to make it look complete. Marble is so expensive and we didn't know if the antique piece would even hold the weight, but also didn't want to spend $500+ on something we might not even use in our next place! I found the perfect solution after stumbling upon...

Happy Thursday, everyone! Mr. Jones and I still have a few gifts to buy, but I wanted to share our holiday gift wrap and some more holiday decor with you! For the past couple of years, I have used brown packing paper to wrap our gifts and this year I wanted to try something different. I found the ivory and gold wrapping paper at HomeGoods and stumbled upon the black kraft paper at Michaels. To tie everything together, I bought red and green velvet ribbon at HomeGoods, chalkboard ribbon at Hobby Lobby, and chalkboard gift tags at Target. I absolutely loved the way our gift wrap turned out this year, I hope you do too!
Christmas Cocktails
Christmas is so soon, but it isn't too late to mix up some adorably delicious holiday cocktails! I created two cocktails that are easy to make and don't require many ingredients. I love a good craft cocktail, but I'll leave that to the real professionals at my favorite restaurants. I hope you enjoy them as much as Mr. Jones and I did!
MRS-tletoe:
For Cranberry Ice Cubes: Add 3-4 cranberries per ice cube, fill with water, freeze.
For Red Sugar Rim: Pour sugar out onto a plate. With a lime, lemon, or orange, coat the top of the mason jar with juice. Press the rim of the glass onto the sugar to rim the edge.
Pour 1.5 oz. Vodka over cranberry ice cubes.
Fill the rest of the glass with Sprite zero.
Add a splash of cranberry juice.
Santas Little Helper:
Ginger Ale Ice Cubes: Fill ice cube tray with ginger ale and freeze. Our favorite ginger ale is Ale-8-One!
(Optional) Red Sugar Rim: Pour sugar out onto a plate. With a lime, lemon, or orange, coat the top of the mason jar with juice. Press the rim of the glass onto the sugar to rim the edge.
Fill glass with ginger ale ice cubes (4-5 cubes max).
Pour bourbon over ice. Mr. Jones prefers Four Roses Bourbon.
Garnish with a few cranberries.
