This might be my favorite dress EVER! That is a strong statement, but it's so perfect for beautiful fall days like this one. The length is also just right to wear with boots like these and it shows the perfect amount of leg.
I belted this dress with my mom's brass nameplate belt because you know how much I love to accentuate the waist! This belt is so special to me because it has her maiden name initials on it, long before any of us kids were in the picture! I also have one of my dads nameplate belts and it's one of my greatest treasures. These belts are everywhere in Kentucky and you can shop them here. Last weekend, I went to the pumpkin patch with my family in Kentucky. Fall in the Bluegrass State is beyond beautiful and I'm in awe of it's beauty when the leaves are changing and the air is crisp. We laughed our butts off watching my brother and brother-in-law successfully carry almost 15 pumpkins for the "great pumpkin challenge," and also drank some delicious spiked apple cider!
Besides being able to spend time my family, one of the best things about being home is that I get to borrow all of my mom and sisters clothes, shoes, bags, etc! We all wear the same size shoe (hello, lucky!) and they all have fabulous style. At the pumpkin patch I wore my mom's studded Frye boots and borrowed my sister in law's fringe handbag (under $60 too)! Since the temperature dropped over the weekend, I wore this amazingly soft faux fur vest with a comfy tunic tee. It was the perfect fall day and I can't wait to carve pumpkins before Halloween!
I've already talked about how much I love this dress in this post here, but can we talk about how adorable it looks with an anorak over it?! I will admit, I probably wear this jacket too often, but that goes to show you how versatile an anorak can be. I've linked a similar one above that I'm currently trying to talk myself out of buying. Originally, I belted both pieces with a black belt, but I loved the pop of color that the red one added. Belting a jacket over a dress not only defines the waist, but it can pull your look together instantly. It's a win, win!

Lace-up tops and dresses are everywhere this season and I love this Topshop number from Nordstrom. It is lined behind the laces so it's a little more conservative than some options out there, but this allows it to be more versatile. This dress can easily be taken from day to night, too! For the office, you could pair it with tights, booties, and a top-knot. For night (or weekends), you can pair it with some over-the-knee boots like these and a fun hat!
I also love getting more wears out of a dress by putting a skirt over it and making it look like a top! A suede skirt like the one from this post would be perfect! When wearing a skirt over a dress, I usually go with something A-line so the dress doesn't bunch up underneath. When you look at your closet with this in mind, it always seems like there are so many more options! You can never have enough options, right?!

Suede skirts are a key trend piece this season and for good reason! They are so versatile and I've worn mine so many times already. Just like any good basic wardrobe staple, they can easily be dressed up, down, or in-between like this look I wore for a casual date night. I'm also a huge fan of layering flannel shirts in the fall and it's fun to print mix with a stripe tee that has corresponding colors. Since we were going to dinner in a walkable neighborhood, I opted for these perforated boots with a reasonable heel. Luckily, I found a pair almost exactly like mine for only $35 here! Whoohoo!
I've been traveling a lot lately and have developed what you could call an airport uniform. My Herschel backpack isn't pictured here, but with this layered look I'm prepared for hot, cold, humid, or whatever climate I might encounter while flying the friendly skies.
