This year for Christmas, I wanted to shake things up a bit and really decorate our tree. The only problem was that I didn't want to spend over $50 for the tree and the table setting. Since I had a limited budget, I had to get really creative! Keep reading to see how I decorated everything under $50!
SHOP THE POST:
First I made some DIY plaid ornaments. The "tree skirt" is just leftover fabric draped over some batting and tied around the base. We always put our little tree on top of vintage suitcases to make it appear taller, and it didn't hurt that this year we have a puppy and he can't reach the ornaments! Next, I added the houndstooth ribbon to the tree since I already had an entire roll and found two in the clearance section at Hobby Lobby (#score)!
Since I was going with a plaid theme, I searched high and low for plaid gift wrap. I didn't find any that I liked however, I did find some black and white buffalo check scrapbook paper. I wrapped a couple of gifts with that and for the rest, I used old fabric! I cut the fabric pieces large enough so that the tape would be on the back of the box so the packing tape wouldn't show. I love how it turned out, what about you?!
