For months prior to Jett’s third birthday when I’d ask him what kind of party he wanted to have his response was always “a blue party!” After attending many parties at school I thought he’d go with Superman, Paw Patrol, Blippi, or something like that. But alas, my creative little nugget wanted a blue party so that’s exactly what I did. It was simple, but beautiful, and all of the details are in today’s post!
For the balloon arch, instead of connecting it to the wall and trying to get it to float, my mom and I just blew up balloons and attached them to this handy balloon arch strip and placed it on the table. I did measure out the strip first and put it on the table before adding the balloons. This helped with the placement of the balloons since I needed smaller balloons around the cake so it wasn’t covered. I also let it trail off of the table on each side so it made a statement! These blue chrome balloons made the balloons look so amazing! The added shine was so fun. I used 5 shades of blue for the balloons.
For the cake, I asked the bakery to do a “blue tie dye” icing on the sides. It turned out so perfect and it was delicious! For the cookies, I sent over a photo with the shade of blue I wanted so there were no surprises. I ordered the cookies from Mikkelsen’s Pastry Shop in Naples. I also sent the cookies to school with Jett in goody bags on the day of his birthday since they celebrate at school as well.
The lightning bolt smiley face was inspired by Jett’s favorite sweatshirt. It makes me laugh because we live in Southern Florida and it is HOT but he will wear it all day and sweat his little face off. That’s so his personality- stubborn but sweet. I added this smiley face design on the gifts with my cricut Joy! I also used the machine to make labels for the gift bags. For the gift bags, I purchased some blue bulk candy and added some Play-doh and other little goodies from the Target dollar section. I completely forgot to use the letter board for his party, but if I had it would’ve said “Be three, be free.” Everything I used (mostly amazon) for the table is linked below!
