HOW TO BUILD A (TRADER JOE'S) HOLIDAY CHEESE BOARD

November 14, 2019 Haley Jones

Holiday party season is quickly approaching, can you even believe it?! November is flying, so it’s time to start thinking about hosting parties, buying gifts, and decking the halls! I’m going to share my 2019 Christmas decor with you soon, but first I wanted to share this Christmas cheese board made with ingredients from (my favorite) Trader Joe’s along with some hostess gift ideas. In this post I’m giving you a shopping list to recreate this cheese board as well as some tips to make you look like a cheese board pro!

WHAT YOU’LL NEED FROM TRADER JOE’S:

  1. Blueberries

  2. 1 pomegranate

  3. 1 grapefruit or orange

  4. Green grapes (I got cotton candy)

  5. 1 red apple

  6. Cherry Tomatoes

  7. Rosemary

  8. Red Berries (in the floral section)

  9. White Cheddar cheese

  10. Cheddar cheese (Tillamook is delicious)!

  11. Gouda

  12. Blueberry goat cheese (soooo yummy)!

  13. Applewood smoked salami

  14. Gourmet Pepperoni

TIPS FOR ARRANGING YOUR CHRISTMAS CHEESE BOARD

  1. Start by arranging the cheese and anything in a bowl. I like to spread them out so they aren’t all in one spot on the cheese board.

  2. Next, I add the fruit that I sliced in half. In this case it was both pieces of a pomegranate and 1 half of a grapefruit. Having round objects on the board whether it be fruit or a small bowl is helpful when arranging other items. You can fan the cheese around the bowl (or fruit) and the same goes for the salami and pepperoni.

  3. For a more dramatic effect, fill the board up so that there aren’t any spaces showing other than the edges of the board.

  4. Fold the salami and pepperoni in half, and then in half again. I fanned them out around the bowl of parmesean crackers, the grapefruit, and the blueberry goat cheese so the board was more interesting to look at.

  5. Cut the cheese in small slices so you can fan them out.

  6. Thinly slice your apple(s). It takes up space and it also looks really pretty.

  7. Add rosemary and berries! This really take your holiday cheese board to the next level.

  8. Follow @ainttooproudtomeg and @cheesebynumbers on Instagram! They have amazing tips and inspiration!

GIFT IDEAS FOR THE HOSTESS:

Obviously a cheese board is a wonderful gift for any hostess, but depending on how much you want to spend, I have some more fun ideas for you! I’ll be sharing a Hostess Gift Guide soon, but for now, shop some of my gift ideas for the hostess below!

Happy holidays, everyone! If you recreate this Christmas cheese board, tag me on Instagram so I can see!

Haley
