In today’s post I’m spilling the beans on one of the gifts I got for our family so we can feel safer in our home in 2019.
While using the Nextdoor app and being connected with neighbors through groups on Facebook, I noticed our neighborhood might not be as safe as we had thought. I was constantly worried about packages that were being delivered and every time our dog, Dwayne would bark in the middle of the night when Skyler was out of town.
Our solution to feeling more safe in the new year was the Panasonic HomeHawk, read more for all of the details of this amazing system!
Dwayne normally never barks but for some reason he barks at every little noise when Skyler isn’t home. Skyler travels for work a lot, so the barking in the middle of night was a lot more frequent than I’d like! It’s really hard for me to go back to sleep when I’m alone, I just lay in bed and worry that someone might have been trying to break in.
Jett’s room is at the front of our home and that makes me worry even more! Since we installed the Panasonic HomeHawk, I’ve been able to just check the front door camera on my phone and go right back to sleep! I can see the live view to make sure no one is there, but I can also play back footage from minutes before the dog barked to make sure no one was there. It’s simply amazing and makes me feel so safe!
As for packages, I can set up alerts so I can see that our packages have arrived safely. This is great for deliveries of more expensive items because we can watch them to make sure they aren’t stolen or just run by the house to put them inside. I absolutely love this feature because we shop online all of the time!
Setting up the Panasonic HomeHawk was SO EASY, too! There are no wires which is amazing because we don’t even have a plug near our front door. When the batteries are fully charged, they last up to 3 months. After charging the devices, I had to hook up the base with our router and download the Panasonic HomeHawk app. Both of these tasks were super simple and the entire setup took less than 30 minutes!
You can also setup the HomeHawk with Amazon Echo Show and ask Alexa to show you the front door camera. This is super convenient for us as our Echo Show is in the bathroom. That means that if the doorbell rings as I’m getting out of the shower I can check to see who is there before freaking out and throwing on clothes- ha!
The camera has a built in speakers so that you can tell the delivery man to leave your package. This is probably one of my favorite features.
The Panasonic HomeHawk also comes with a back door camera! Our back door is on the second floor so we haven’t set it up yet but were thinking we might put it inside to keep an eye on our dog during the day. If you all have been following me for awhile you might have seen how our dog, Dwayne can be quite naughty when he’s home alone. Using the second camera to keep an eye on him will be great!
Overall, I would highly recommend the Panasonic HomeHawk. The video quality is amazing even at night and being able to connect it to our Amazon Echo Show is definitely an added bonus we will use often.
