Happy Monday, loves! Today I'm sharing an outfit I wore this past weekend on date night. I'm really into soft color palettes this winter and I wanted to give you a few tips on how to pull a neutral look off!
1. Pick a few colors that work well together:
This is fairly easy when going for an all neutral ensemble. For my look, I wore all gray underneath and accented with nude/camel and touch of pale pink. Some other colors you could try are light blue, lavender, or mint green!
2. Pick a Nude Shoe or Boot:
Nude footwear is the best way to pull your look together. You don't want to wear something too dark because you want to keep the color palette light.
3. Accent with a Bold Lip:
When wearing an ensemble like this, a bold red or pink lip will really stand out and take your look to the next level! I absolutely love this NARS lip pencil in Cruella.
I hope you enjoyed today's style tips! I'll be sharing the second part of this look tomorrow, so stay tuned!
BLACK & TAN
It's that time of year again when a lot of us start going back to the gym, drinking smoothies, and become more healthy people! If you're anything like me, you might have over indulged a bit over the holidays and aren't feeling too great about yourself. That's when tunic sweaters like this come to the rescue. Not only are they super comfortable, but they also cover up more than usual and that's just what I need for a few weeks while I bust my booty at the gym!
This tunic sweater in particular is amazing because it's made of soft jersey material and feels like wearing a t-shirt. Pair it with some stretchy skinny jeans, and you're all set to feel great while accomplishing whatever health goals you may have for 2016!
Speaking of fitness goals in the new year, I wanted to share a few tunes with you that really amp up my sweat sessions. Yesterday I cycled for an hour and despite feeling like I might pass out, these songs really kept me going. I've added them all to one Pandora station, and it's great for long cardio sessions that can get really boring! If you're more inspired by cute gear for the gym, check out my Pinterest page for fashionable workout apparel, healthy recipes, etc.!
If you have any music recommendations for me, I would love for you to leave them in the comments below. Have a great day!
JEWEL TONES
Happy Tuesday, friends! I'm so glad you're here because today I want to talk about ways to brighten up your winter wardrobe and mix new spring pieces into your cold weather looks. The jewel tone trend is nothing new, but it pops up every season in different variations. These colors will be in stores this spring as well, making it even easier for you to mix winter staples with your bright springtime purchases!
Winter seems to last forever once Christmas is over and by the time February rolls around, I'm ready for spring clothes. The only problem is that it's still freezing and wearing dresses meant for warmer temps isn't the best idea. That's why the jewel tone palettes I've created below are perfect! You can easily mix pieces from spring/summer with winter ones and just like that you have an outfit that will brighten up any dreary snow day!
In today's post, I went with an emerald green moto jacket and sapphire blue skirt. To pull the look together, I opted for a black lace-up top and black over-the-knee boots. Both the jacket and skirt will be perfect for spring too, allowing me to get more wears out of each piece.
I hope these color palettes will inspire you and help you to reimagine your wardrobe this winter! Have a great day!
ROSE QUARTZ
I'm so happy you've stopped by the blog today for my first post in 2016! Mr. Jones and I just returned to Seattle from the most amazing Christmas vacation in Southern California and I have so much to share from our trip! The change in weather has been rough on our first day back, but the snowflakes outside are so beautiful.
Since it's my first post in the new year, I wanted to talk about Pantone's colors of 2016! You will be seeing these colors everywhere this year just like Marala last year and I'm so excited. This year the colors are 'Rose Quartz' like the cozy sweater in this post and 'Serenity' which is a soft periwinkle. These colors are very soothing and also perfect to pair with some of your summer staples like white denim. I talked about wearing an outfit just like this here, but now you can see just what I'm talking about!
Later this month I'll be sharing some of my favorite winter pieces in Rose Quartz and Serenity, so check back soon! Thanks for stopping by today and Happy New Year!

Kendra Scott "Rayne" Tassel Pendant Necklace
Thank you so much for stopping by Me & Mr. Jones today! I'm getting so excited for New Year's Eve but still haven't decided what to wear. I was thinking about something velvet like this gorgeous LC Lauren Conrad skirt since velvet is such a great alternative to sequins. The silhouette of this skirt is flattering and it also has pockets- winning! I've worn Lauren Conrad's Runway Collection for Kohl's here and here, but this is definitely one of my favorite looks for winter.
In addition to sharing this look with you guys today, I also wanted to share some styling tips for wearing sweaters with skirts!
1. Skater Skirts: Front-tuck your sweater like I have in this post or you could also opt for a cropped sweater like this one!
2. Body-Con Skirts: Form-fitting skirts are very versatile and would work with a cropped sweater if the skirt has a high waist. If not, an oversized sweater with the front delicately tucked will look great too!
3. Midi Skirts: These skirts look excellent with a more tailored sweater tucked all the way in like this outfit here. If the skirt is a shiny material like this faux leather one, try a chunky knit that hits right at the waist.
It just so happened that my Rocksbox this month came with the perfect pieces to pair with the outfit from today's post too! This amazing Kendra Scott necklace is even more beautiful in person and I've been wearing it all of the time. I'm also so in love with the serpent bangle by Jenny Bird. It's so nice because it's delicate but also adjustable. The most exciting part is that you too can receive a free month of fabulous Rocksbox jewelry! Use the code MEANDMRJONESXOXO and you'll be all set!
Have a great day!

WINTER WHITE
Today I'm sharing ways to wear white this winter with items you already have in your closet! Winter white can be intimidating, but not with these simple style tips.
1. Same Color Top & Shoes
Just like I did for this outfit, pair your white denim with a top and shoes that are the same color. The colors don't have to match exactly, but this is an easy way to pull your look together and look polished!
2. Neutral Tones
Soft neutral tones work perfectly with white jeans and can brighten up your winter wardrobe too! Think blush pinks, taupe, nude, and khaki. I just scored this cozy pink sweater that I plan on wearing with my white jeans and taupe suede booties!
3. All White
This may sound crazy, but when it's done right it's so pretty! The key is to mix items with different textures and go with a neutral shoe or boot. Below is an example of an outfit I wore for Thanksgiving in Kentucky!
What do you think of today's style tips?! I'd love to hear from you in the comments below! Thank you so for stopping by!

First things first, MERRY CHRISTMAS EVE'S EVE! Can you believe that the big day is almost here?! Me either, and that's why I wanted to share one of my favorite shoots from this year with you!
These photos are from when I was in Kentucky a couple of weeks ago, and my mom and I had SO MUCH FUN frolicking around the Christmas tree lot. My lovely little sister made a bunch of paper snowflakes and what better way to have a white Christmas if there isn't any snow in the forecast?!
I've professed my love for army green jackets before here, and when I found this hooded Calvin Klein number, I knew it had to be in my wardrobe. The genuine leather trim adds a chic touch and the hood is perfect for those extra cold nights. I'm also a sucker for anything in UK blue and was so excited when I found this infinity scarf and pom pom beanie at American Eagle! I'm sure these accessories will be in heavy rotation for our first winter in Seattle.
Thank you so much for stopping by! Wishing you and yours a ver Merry Christmas!
HOLIDAY TRAVEL
Christmas is only three days away and it's time to start packing! I'm going to California to spend Christmas with Mr. Jones' family for a week and I'm super excited. This outfit will be coming along with me because the bright red sweater is so festive and cozy too.
Packing can be really overwhelming for a long trip, especially with bulky winter clothes. Over the years, Mr. Jones and I have created a packing list template that we use to make sure we have the right outfits for every occasion and don't forget anything important. Since this checklist has become so routine for us, I wanted to share it with you! Below, I started to fill one out so you can see how I use it. You can download the PDF here!
I'd love to hear what you think of this packing list in the comments below! Thank you so much for stopping by!
