Just because you don't have fancy China and and table linens doesn't mean you can't quickly pull together an ultra chic and romantic table setting for two. After all, the point is to have a nice relaxing dinner at home away from the hustle and bustle that the holidays bring. In today's post I'm showing showing you how to create a table setting full of Christmas cheer and luxe seasonal style in very little time with very little money!
1. CREATE A TABLE RUNNER
Believe it or not, this cute little polka dot table runner is actually two pillow cases! I ironed them so they were nice and crisp and covered the seam with greenery that I got for $2 at the grocery.
2. DIY PLACEMAT
Placemats add dimension to your tablescape and elevate the overall look. There's no need to buy placemats though, just make your own! I used a piece of plaid scrapbook paper, but you can also cut a piece of wrapping paper too.
3. NAPKIN GIFT WRAP
Not sure how to fold a napkin into a Christmas tree or something really creative? Me either! Using the napkin as gift wrap not only looks cute, but it also saves money! I used the "tootsie roll" wrapping technique and tied the ends with festive ribbon.
4. JOLLY PLACE CARD HOLDERS
The nutcracker place cards were a dollar store find that I painted white years ago. To make them look even more festive, I added little flat cupcake toppers and Papyrus Peppermint Party Picks!
5. TWINKLING GREENERY
To add to the ambiance, a set of battery powered lights was woven into the greenery. These lights are very inexpensive and they're battery powered, so you don't have to worry about hiding any cords!
6. EASY AND ELEGANT FLORAL ARRANGEMENTS
For a romantic tablescape, simple floral arrangements like these white roses work perfectly. They won't block your view of your S.O. and you can add some interest with Peppermint Party Picks- so cute!
7. POPS OF PLAID
You can't have a romantic dinner without a bottle of bubbly! Ours was concealed in a plaid bottle gift bag from Papyrus that doubled as decor.
8. DON'T FORGET THE CARD!
Last but not least, a romantic dinner wouldn't be complete without a sweet note written in an elegant (or fun!) card! I love this "You Make Me Melt" card by Papyrus- it's so sweet and perfect for the occasion!
I hope you enjoyed today's tablescape design hacks! Christmas will be here before you know it- woohoo! Thank you so much for stopping by and have the best day!
