JETT'S BEDTIME ROUTINE WITH BABY DOVE

April 1, 2019 Haley Jones

Thank you Baby Dove for sponsoring this post.

Lately, I’ve gotten a lot of questions about Jett’s schedule and his nightly routine. In today’s post, I’m sharing how we wind down at night time starting with Jett’s bath. His routine at night is very scheduled so he gets to bed on time, but we’ve made some changes recently that positively impacted his sleep at night, so I’m sharing them with you today.

I have to pick Jett up from daycare at 5 pm and we get home about 10 minutes after that. Typically when I get home I let the dog out and put Jett in his high chair to eat dinner. Dinner lasts for about 45 minutes to an hour since I cook Skyler and me dinner while Jett eats in the kitchen. After he eats he’s always a mess and it’s time to give him a bath.

This is where we’ve recently changed his routine and started to use the new Baby Dove Calming Nights Tip to Toe Wash and Baby Dove Calming Nights Baby Lotion. I still bathe him for the same amount of time – usually about 20 minutes or until he wants out or has splashed all of the water out of the bathtub – ha! The Calming Nights products have hugely impacted the rest of our nightly routine! One of our goals this year was to read to Jett before he went to bed, but most nights he would just want to play and would wiggle around in my arms while I tried to hold a book and read to him. He was also being quite the wiggle worm while I nurse him at night, even trying to stand up while nursing!

After we started using Baby Dove Calming Nights Tip to Toe Wash and Baby Lotion, reading and nursing have become much more manageable. Baby Dove’s Calming Nights Wash is formulated with calming scents of chamomile and warm milk to help baby relax before bedtime and it has definitely worked for us! The lotion and wash are both made with skin-natural nutrients that are naturally found in the skin and help replenish essential moisture in babies’ skin, so I’ve noticed he hasn’t had any dry skin since we began using the Calming Nights Baby Lotion.

Additionally, for some reason, when I was putting lotion on him before using the Baby Dove lotion, he would cry every night. The consistency of the Baby Dove lotion is different than any we’ve used before and I just rub it together on my palms to heat it up a little bit before slathering him with it. Since I started using the Baby Dove lotion, he hasn’t cried once, which is so exciting!

After bath time and getting him into pajamas, we will usually sit down in his room or on the couch to read a book or two. Around 6:50 pm, I will nurse him and give him a bottle. My supply is running low in the evening so I still nurse him and then give him a 3 oz. bottle. After story time and feeding, I put him down in his crib for the night. Another difference I’ve noticed after using the Calming Nights range is that Jett isn’t wrestling around in his crib nearly as much as he used to before going to sleep. After using the Calming Nights range, I lay him in his crib and he is asleep within 15-20 minutes. So now I finally have some time to relax, which is amazing!

Overall I would highly recommend the Baby Dove Calming Nights range. We have loved the changes they’ve made to our nightly routine and Jett’s skin is softer than ever. It also makes me feel good that the products are made with 100% skin-natural nutrients and no dyes, parabens, phthalates or sulfates!

Have a great day, friends!

Xo,

Haley

I know I can’t be the only mom out there who is horrible at printing photos. Jett is almost three and all I have are a bunch of polaroids scattered about. Even though I’m bad at printing photos, I found a simple way to keep select works of art that I think it pretty genius. I also started to keep some of said polaroids in it as well as Christmas cards, Santa photos, etc. I’m telling you all about it in today’s post!
