Jett is growing like a weed and just getting cuter by the minute. This past month has been filled with a lot of new milestones or challenges depending on which way you look at them! He’s on the move and getting into everything and we couldn’t love it any more. Keep reading for his feeding schedule, more on how we’ve introduced solids, and more!

LIKES:
Jett got a Joovy Spoon Walker for Christmas and he absolutely LOVES it! It’s really nice too because I can stick him in his walker while I make dinner during the week or while I’m getting ready on the weekends. The tray is amazing because I can put puffs on it and he can wheel around and chew away. It’s so great!
DISLIKES:
Jett officially doesn’t like when we take things from him and he cries! The first time he did it we were at the grocery store and I was so surprised because he’s usually so easy going. I had let him hold a box of Cheerios at the grocery and when I took them from him to ring them up, he cried! I felt like such a mean mom!
MILESTONES:
32 weeks- We went to Kentucky for the 3rd time for Christmas! Jett and I flew together (Skyler had to stay back for a couple of days for work). Our 3rd flight was definitely tougher than the first 2 considering he had recently starting eating solid foods. I packed snacks and those were enough to keep him busy and full (along with breastfeeding). He acted like an infant again and wanted to breastfeed every hour on the flights. Probably because he has skipped lunch and puffs aren’t very nutritious or filling. Other than that the flights went well! I also packed him some toys all on their own pacifier clips. This way I could clip one toy to him at a time and he couldn’t throw it on the floor.
32 weeks- Started pulling up and can sit from crawling position.
33 weeks- Started eating 3 meals a day.
Week 35-Pulled up in a pack ‘n play at daycare. His crib was lowered at 33 weeks but he hasn’t pulled up at home in his crib yet.
Week 35- Baby Jett got his first ear infection. Was up all day on a Saturday night, very pitiful on Sunday and got into the doctors on Monday. They gave him amoxicillin and he was feeling better after a couple of days!
Week 36- Jett says “mamamamamama” a lot! It is starting to sound more and more like a pronounced MAMA so I’m excited.
Week 36- He got his first rash. It was pretty bad but we kept him home from daycare which is probably a #firsttimemom call. He was fine, it was just a rash from a virus that he had.
Week 36- Jett officially gets mad when you take things from him. I let him hold a box of Cheerios at the store and he cried when I had to ring it up!
FEED:
This month we introduced dozens of new solid foods. Jett is now eating 3 meals a day, breastfeeds in the morning and at night, and has 3-4 bottles during the day. Mid-month we realized he was eating too much cereal so we introduced some new foods to slowly replace cereal completely. He started eating Cheerios which is great because they have more calories than puffs and hold him over for longer. He has tried eggs, pancakes, waffles, green beans, peas, bananas, blueberries, and strawberries. We cut everything into small pieces so they aren’t choking hazards but large enough that he can pick them up. Sometimes he gets frustrated with slimy foods like strawberries, so I started crushing Cheerios and rolling the Strawberries in that and it makes it easier for him to pick them up.
As for breastfeeding and frozen milk, we are starting to run low on frozen milk since I’m only pumping once a day. I was pumping in the morning before I left the house since Jett typically isn’t awake yet, however that changed this month. I realized it saved me A LOT of time if I just waited to breastfeed him right before I left rather than sitting in our bedroom and pumping for 30+ minutes. It’s great because I also get to hold him before I leave for work at 6:30am!
Since my frozen stash is dwindling, we started introducing formula this month. He only has it during the day when he has a bottle and we are mixing it with frozen milk. So if he gets a 6 oz. bottle, we use 3 oz. frozen milk, 3 oz water, and 1.5 scoops of formula. Currently we are using Enfamil Neuropro Genlease.
SLEEP:
Jett is still sleeping through the night and takes 2 naps a day. His first nap is from 10am-11am and the second nap is from 1:30pm-3:30pm. We don’t pick his nap time because it was basically already set at daycare. He usually goes to bed around 7-7:30pm and I get him up to breastfeed at 6:15am. Sometimes he will go back to sleep until 8:00 on the weekends and that’s a real treat!
That’s all for this month, check back soon for his 9 month update! Have a great day, y’all!

Haley
