You might have noticed I've been tapping into Mr. Joneses wardrobe to extend my own lately. Although your man might not have those exact shirts, there is a 90% chance he has a nice white tee you can borrow! Don't overlook this basic wardrobe staple of his, because there are so many style tips to elevate your look and create a chic #ootd! Here are a few of my favorites:
1. TAILOR YOUR TEE
There are a few tricks to instantly tailor your boyfriend tee and believe it or not, no sewing skills are required! The first one is rolling the sleeves a couple of times. This will shorten the arms and add some polish to your oversized tee. Doing this also gives it an effortless "je ne sais quoi!" A boyfriend tee is going to be larger than your average t-shirt, so when it isn’t tucked it might look a little too much like a night shirt. Another great way to instantly tailor your man’s tee is by gently tucking it in the front, a little to the side of your zipper.
2. ADD A NECK SCARF
This season, choker necklaces are back in a big way! The good news is you can can mimic this trend by tying a scarf around your neck. Chances are you have a scarf that will be perfect but if not, you can score one for less than $20! The one I'm wearing in this post is my great grandmother's and it reminds me of her hand-made biscuits and cute little laugh.
3. LACE IT UP
Lace-up shoes are continuing to be a huge trend this season and for good reason! The delicate laces add a feminine touch to any outfit and the ability to adjust how the shoe fits is an added bonus! I love how comfortable these Sam Edelman pumps are and the more casual spring sandal versions are pretty amazing too!
