Lace-up tops and dresses are everywhere this season and I love this Topshop number from Nordstrom.  It is lined behind the laces so it's a little more conservative than some options out there, but this allows it to be more versatile.  This dress can easily be taken from day to night, too!  For the office,  you could pair it with tights, booties, and a top-knot.  For night (or weekends), you can pair it with some over-the-knee boots like these and a fun hat!  

I also love getting more wears out of a dress by putting a skirt over it and making it look like a top!  A suede skirt like the one from this post would be perfect!  When wearing a skirt over a dress, I usually go with something A-line so the dress doesn't bunch up underneath.  When you look at your closet with this in mind, it always seems like there are so many more options!  You can never have enough options, right?!

Suede skirts are a key trend piece this season and for good reason!  They are so versatile and I've worn mine so many times already.  Just like any good basic wardrobe staple, they can easily be dressed up, down, or in-between like this look I wore for a casual date night.  I'm also a huge fan of layering flannel shirts in the fall and it's fun to print mix with a stripe tee that has corresponding colors.  Since we were going to dinner in a walkable neighborhood, I opted for these perforated boots with a reasonable heel.  Luckily, I found a pair almost exactly like mine for only $35 here!  Whoohoo!

I've been traveling a lot lately and have developed what you could call an airport uniform.  My Herschel backpack isn't pictured here, but with this layered look I'm prepared for hot, cold, humid, or whatever climate I might encounter while flying the friendly skies.   Besides wearing plenty of layers, I like to wear shoes that are easy to get on and off because let's face it, no one wants to be that guy holding up the line at security!  These Sam Edelman shoes fit the bill and are comfortable to boot!  Layered looks like this one are also perfect for those casual fall weekends we all love.  Is it Friday yet?!

I have to admit, I have a huge crush on fall's trends.  Sleek dresses like this one that could easily go from day to night are simply irresistible, especially in a lovely shade of light blue!  I've already told you here how much I love bow blouses, and this dress is just another example of why a bow blouse (or dress) is so great.  I'm also a sucker for over the knee boots, and these Steve Madden boots are to die for.  They are comfortable, sleek, and will be a staple for years to come!  What is your favorite fall trend?

I have had this faux suede dress for quite some time and absolutely love wearing it in the fall and winter months.  Faux suede dresses are great because they are less expensive than the real deal and way easier to care for.  They can be dressed up or down, worn with tights or without, and are perfect for these hot "fall" days!  I've linked three different options that are equal parts darling and versatile, which one is your favorite?

I love a basic piece that has an unexpected design element like this split back Sam Edelman shirt!  It is still a crisp white top but the back gives it some added interest and takes it from boring to fabulous!  The same goes for these amazing Seychelle boots that have the perfect heel height.  Find more of my favorite fall booties in this post!

I cannot tell you how excited I am that the bow blouse is back!  I've been waiting years for this to happen and as fate would have it, I found the perfect vintage bow blouse this spring right before we moved from Nashville (and for only $12!).  Fashion trends come and go, and this is one of the reasons I love vintage.  You can find pieces that are on trend for half the price!  This season, the 70s are back in a big way and lucky for us, you can always find some groovy pieces at your local vintage shop or thrift store.  My bag and sunnies are also vintage, but I've linked some similar items for you to check out.
