MARC FISHER 'ADALYN' WEDGES // STEVE MADDEN 'JAYLEN' WEDGES
Last year's most sought after wedge sandals are back this season with even more colors to choose from, but now there's also a budget friendly option! Steve Madden's 'Jaylen' sandal is very similar to Marc Fisher's 'Adalyn' wedges and will save you about $100! That's a significant price reduction, so why exactly are the Steve Madden dupes so inexpensive? Keep reading today's post for a side-by-side comparison so you can decide for yourself if the Marc Fisher wedges are worth the splurge!
Key Similarities:
Steve Madden's 'Jaylen' wedge comes very close to the Marc Fisher 'Adalyn' sandal. The vamp (how far it comes up on the foot) is almost identical, as is the heel height (the Steve Madden 'Jaylen' sandals are about 1/2" shorter). Even the unique stitching on the sole is similar.
Key Differences:
Although the overall heel height is similar, the platform on the Marc Fisher 'Adalyn' sandals is 2" when the Steve Madden 'Jaylen' version is only 1". Another noticeable difference is the strap construction and material. While both have gold buckles, you'll notice the Marc Fisher's have a more substantial brass buckle and slightly thicker strap. The material of the strap is another big difference. Steve Madden's $60 version has what seems like a faux leather strap (it says leather upper on the site, but it doesn't look or feel like real leather in person). The more expensive Marc Fisher wedge has a thick genuine leather strap.
Overall, I really like both it just depends if you're willing to sacrifice quality and potentially comfort. I did wear both the Marc Fisher 'Adalyn' and Steve Madden 'Jaylen' around the house for about an hour, but unfortunately it rained all weekend and I wasn't able to take them out on the town! The Marc Fisher wedges do seem slightly more comfortable, but the Steve Madden's are a little bit lower so that might make a difference after a long walk. I'll be keeping at least one pair of the Steve Madden's, so when I get a chance to wear the two I'll let you know!
