My Valentine's Day outfit post had been all planned out until Mr. Jones and I stopped into a Banana Republic last weekend and I found this sweater on major sale! Not only is it the prettiest shade of pink, but it is also 40% off (#score)! I honestly cannot tell you the last time that I actually wore a pink top or dress but lately, I just can't get enough of this warm color.
I decided to step out of my color comfort zone and go for a "50 shades of pink" #ootd because, well, why not?! Wearing all or a lot of one color can make a big statement and Valentine's Day is the perfect opportunity to try it. You could choose pinks, reds, or even wine like in this post here!
Since I used these adorable heart shaped balloons in my V-Day post last year, I wanted to do something a little bit different. A lightbulb went off as I was eating a conversation heart last week, and bam! The thing is, a conversation heart balloon "bouquet" could be SO fun for your special someone and even better if someone used a "marry me" balloon to propose (just sayin')! They are also SO easy to make! Here is how I made mine:
1. Purchase the balloons at your local Dollar Tree. If you don't have one near you, I found these on Amazon with prime shipping.
2. Find 2" red vinyl letters. I found some at Office Depot, but I also found these on Amazon with prime shipping.
3. Come up with some phrases or inside jokes and start sticking! I usually start with the center letter as the starting point. For example, for LOVE YOU, I started with the O in love first. Once I got that centered and straight, I added the other letters. The great thing about the vinyl letters is that you can very carefully peel them off if you mess up!
That's it, I told you it was easy! If you make these, tag me in your Instagram photo because I would love to see them. If you need some more Valentine's Day gift ideas, check out my gifts for her, gifts for him, and even a Valentine's Day Style page with some of my favorite sassy little dresses!
