Stripes are always on-trend for summer, but one way to instantly elevate any striped piece is to add another! A stripes-on-stripes outfit formula is #doublethefun and can breathe new life into your every day outfits. Today I'm sharing a few style tips to help you pull off a multi-stripe look for summer, so let's get started!
1. CHOOSE PATTERNS WITH THE SAME GROUND COLOR
The ground color is usually the color that the colored stripes are printed onto. The ground color of both of the items I'm wearing is white for example. I purchased another skirt and the ground pattern looked off-white in person, so the top and the skirt didn't pair well together.
2. IT'S ALL ABOUT THE PATTERN'S SCALE
The scale of your stripes is another important factor to consider. If you're pairing the same color of stripes together (let's say pink +white), a wide striped piece will go well with a narrow striped item. Check out the two items below for an example!
3. PAIR YOUR STRIPES WITH SIMPLE ACCESSORIES
When you're wearing a stripes-on-stripes ensemble, you'll want to stick with simple accessories. We want the stripes to do all of the talking and bold accessories can easily over-complicate the look. A simple necklace and a nice timepiece will always do the trick!
