Jett is just over 5 months old and so far I’ve lost about 45 of the 55+ pounds that I gained during my pregnancy. It’s definitely taking a lot longer to lose the weight than I had anticipated or hoped, but honestly I’ve finally come to terms with the fact that it’s going to take as long to come off as it did to put the weight on. Today I wanted to share with you what has worked for me to get the baby weight off as well as my favorite place to shop for cute workout clothes! Keep reading for all of the details!
Since most of my old workout clothes don’t quite fit yet, momma was in dire need of some new gear for the gym! Especially a new sports bra since I’m still nursing and only had one that fits me. I hopped over to my favorite place to shop for workout clothes, The Shops at Mission Viejo, and found so many cute things! They’re also celebrating Breast Cancer Awareness month right now and some of the stores are donating a portion of their proceeds to the cause.
The Shops at Mission Viejo has SO many places to shop for athletic wear and shoes. There is Lululemon, Fabletics, Lorna Jane, Nordstrom, H&M, Old Navy, Gap, Forever21, and the list goes on! I got these cute army green leggings at Forever21 and they were buy one get one half off so the sports bra was only $7- hooray! I definitely didn’t want to spend too much on a bra I won’t be wearing for that much longer (I plan to nurse for a year) and they had so many budget friendly options.
I picked up these super cute sneakers from Finish Line and they were on sale! They have so many shoes to choose from for men, women, and kids. It was honestly really hard to just pick one pair! This was the only place I could find the shoes my husband wanted for Father’s Day too.
Now that I have some cute workout clothes, it’s time to get back into the gym! I had been doing really well and working out at least 3 times a week, but the month of October has been absolutely insane so I haven’t worked out for a few weeks. I still try to eat as healthy as possible throughout the day and have been doing intermittent fasting for the past 3 months.
I’ve had a lot of questions about intermittent fasting on Instagram, so hopefully this post will cover all of those. I typically eat from 10am-6pm every day. Sometimes Skyler picks something up for dinner so I don’t eat until 7pm, but I don’t worry about extending my fast. I’m still nursing Jett and didn’t see a drop in my supply at all. For the first 2 months of fasting, I still ate oatmeal at 10am to make sure my supply wouldn’t drop. Now I’ve cut out the oatmeal since I’m trying to cut calories from my diet. Most weeks I fast 6 days a week. I should do 7, but there’s always one day where I’m so hungry I just can’t wait to eat!
Intermittent fasting paired with doing BBG workouts at home is definitely what is working best for me. I’ve hit a plateau in the last few weeks but that’s because I’ve been so busy and not working out. I plan on starting the BBG program from the beginning again and I’ll definitely share my experience with y’all over on Instagram stories!
